(on how he is feeling following the concussion protocol)
I feel fine now. It was fourth down and I was kind of getting held up, and instead of going down, trying to throw the ball, and obviously you saw the hit. I kind of took my time getting up but I felt fine. But obviously you go through those things, protocol things, but I did all the things I needed to be here right now.
(on recalling the play)
I have full memory of the play. You get hit pretty hard, sometimes you just want to lay there, and plus it was fourth down. I knew the game was at the end there, so it was a disappointing day and a disappointing way to end it.
(on the feeling in the locker room)
You're embarrassed. You got spanked pretty good. You were coming in here trying to build off the momentum of the week before and we didn't do that, so I mean, it's just trying to find a way to get better for next week because it pays for you to get better and better in this league if you want to get where you want to be at.
(on things going wrong in today's game)
It has been one thing here and there. It's not like a whole overarching one thing. Today it was probably me, which I pressed a little bit too much early in the game and then it kind of got down. Then when were in that kind of mode where we were in no huddle, which you don't want to be in in the NFL. You can execute a little bit, but it is hard to sustain drives. So, I have got to do better early on in the games so we don't get behind like we did today.
(on what the Tennessee defense was doing to confuse him)
They just made plays. They played the same coverages they played against the Bills. We just didn't execute, I didn't execute really. There were open guys, you can see it on the tablet. There were pockets that were clean and kind of scrambled from. I have to be better in order to lead this offense to score more points.
(on turning the ball over before the end of the first half)
I don't know what prompted it. I don't know if it was just me trying to make things happen. In this league you have to kind of just things develop. You have to go through the process of making plays and it takes one play at a time. People always talk about you can't have a 14-point play. They scored early. I have to go through the process of just getting the ball down the field, not trying to do too much. If you look at before the end of the half, at the scramble, just go down, why do I even try to get the extra two yards? Just little things like that that add up and end up getting beat pretty bad.
(on having that kind of mindset before)
I want to win. At the end of the day, I just want to win so I try to do whatever I can to win. You have to believe in the guys around you. You have to know you can go the long way, you can take the short pass and guys will make guys miss. You hang in the pocket and make the throws, but at the end of the day I just want to win and whatever that takes that is what I am going to do. I will look at this film, learn from it and try to come out better on Monday night this week.
(on if there is a shock in the locker room)
You never go into a game expecting to lose and lose bad. Definitely you get shocked because you didn't play the way you wanted to. But we have enough leaders on this team. We have got to find a way. I don't know what that take yet. We will go in, we talk about it, we will figure it out, we will watch the film but I trust that we will find it. That's what a part of leadership is, that's what a part of great teams are, is being able to battle through adversity. It's been kind of rainbows and flowers and awesome for these last few years but if you want to build something substantial and you want to build something great, you are going to go through parts like this. People keep saying it is still early in the year, we can still go get whatever we want but it is going to take us getting better every single day. If you get better every single day and play each game play by play, I think we have the talent in this locker room that we can make it happen.
(on going through a slump)
We just kind of are not playing well enough. We have the players, we are running the plays, but it is just little things here and there that we are not doing well. If it's a pass that I need to throw to a certain point, I am missing that pass. If it's a shot down field, we didn't get ball out in exactly the right way. It is just a little thing here or there. If you look at the talent overall and the guys playing, people are playing hard and people doing what they need to do. We have to come together as a team, offense, defense and special teams, and play that complete game every single week if we want to be who we want to be.
(on doing anything different next week to prepare for the upcoming game)
I always try to do a good in preparing my body to be as ready as possible. They're always little things here or there you work on during the kind of the grind of the NFL season. We have an extra day so I will try to get a jump on the Giants and watch as much as possible and try to be ready for next week.
