NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In addition to being a prime number, nineteen has been a rarity in terms of overall selection in drafts by the Titans/Oilers franchise.
The only time the Titans selected 19th overall in the NFL Draft occurred in 2007 when Tennessee tabbed Texas safety Michael Griffin.

Griffin is the longest tenured first-round selection that is still on the Titans. He is preparing for the second year of a multi-year contract he signed before the 2012 season.
Griffin became a starter in his rookie season and has never missed a game (89 starts in 96 games over six seasons). He's recorded 21 interceptions that he's returned 287 yards, 52 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three sacks and 590 tackles (386 solo).
Griffin was selected to the Pro Bowl after his second season in which he recorded a team-best seven interceptions. That total tied for second in the NFL in 2008. Griffin was again named to the Pro Bowl in 2010 after recording a career-high 153 tackles and adding four interceptions.
The Austin, Texas, native added another four interceptions last season, including a pair in a defensive skermish against the New York Jets that the Titans won 14-10 on Monday Night Football.
With each year Griffin has been in Nashville, he's increased his involvement in helping residents in need.
