OUTSIDE LINEBACKER ARDEN KEY
How good does it feel to be making plays?
Feels good. No, it feels great. Like I've been telling you all the last couple of weeks. In special teams, that's where the work comes in. Special teams comes around, I go in, get my extra work and finish out the plan that I set every week, and then it shows on Sunday.
How do you feel like that special teams work translates into the game? Like what makes you more effective when you're getting that work in?
Because it's just another opportunity to get extra work in, during special teams when you're not in it. That's the only time where I have time for myself. Usually, you've got to do the individuals the coach asks you to do. And I see in special teams, that's a time when I get to do what I want to do.
What is it that you're doing during special teams?
Different drills. Footwork, hands, a lot of pass rush-type stuff. Yes, a lot of different pass-rushing drills.
After that last play, where they went to score a touchdown, how tough is it kind of bounce back after that last play?
I mean, it definitely was tough, but I mean, our defense stood up. We've been in that situation a lot before. We won some and we've lost some. This situation was a little different because I didn't see no wavering. It was like, 'Okay, we got it. Let's get off on the field, and let's get a win.'
There's been some of that talk about being able to complement things, right? Get a stop on defense, and turn it into points, right? You said this one was a little different, with no wavering. What changed, that made this team not waver today?
I think we were hungry for a win, that's what it is. Like I said earlier in the week, we got to get a win. Been talking about getting a win the last three weeks. Once you get that one win, it starts to feel good. It feels good to get a win, and feels good to come in here, party, dance, turn up. We haven't done that in a long time here. So hopefully, guys take it in, flush it, and we'll go out and get a win next week.
You get a sack and a turnover and (Drake) Maye was a guy that was scrambling around the entire game, and the offense turns that into points. How good did that feel?
It feels great. We preach a lot of turnovers. Finally, we win the turnover battle. We're getting the ball out. The ball is bouncing our way now. We've just got to keep our head down, keep on the grind and keep trying to win.
