How tough is it to lose a game like today's?
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely tough. We lost a touchdown and a few big gains. I'm not an official. I don't know what they saw, I just didn't see it, I was playing the game. So, you've just got to put yourself in positions where you're not being penalized. That's just a disappointment and execution just wasn't happening for us and it killed us.
Last week , that play before half getting called back and other instances this week, it just seems like there are breaks that just aren't going you guys' way. How do you try to overcome it?
I think (crappy) teams blame the officiating and there's so much that we have to correct from our standpoint and being better. And you're a bad team if you put the game in the hands of the officials and not just get on your stuff and execute, and we didn't do that and we deserve to lose. So, I don't really care about what penalties were called or not. I think it's more about what we did wrong.
Is that kind of what the message that the coach said afterwards just keep grinding and you guys will figure it out?
I think there was really good fight throughout the whole game, I think. And things were a little bit lulled in the second quarter, and didn't have the ball much, and they scored, and we came back with a great play for a touchdown and another good drive for a field goal that should have had a touchdown. So, I think we fought really hard for the game, we were just killing ourselves. At the end of the day, that's why we lost.
How do you keep it from being demoralizing when you have many big plays called back because of penalties?
I mean, definitely it's just you have to focus on the next play and execute the next play. It also starts with not putting yourself in position where you have to get called. You can't win every call. There's going to be error and it's up to us to put ourselves in spots where we can overcome that.
You're on the road next week against a divisional opponent, a chance to maybe put out some frustrations. Just kind of what the doctor ordered?
Absolutely, obviously against a divisional opponent, you are always upping the intensity. So, we're going to go out and attack it.
