PHOENIX – Mike Vrabel's photo shoot for Madden NFL 20 – complete with his new mustache -- went well.
The Titans head coach had his face scanned here this week at the NFL owners meetings, and he seemed satisfied with how it went.
"They've got a camera that spins around your head and it flashes and takes a picture," Vrabel said of the process. "I've got the mustache on there -- they scanned it on there."
His look, well, he thinks it should look familiar on the video game.
"I've got the same expression you see me with on the sideline -- the happy, jovial, smiling guy that I am," Vrabel said. "So we'll see if I make it on there."
If? Yes, there's a reason to include an 'if."
You see, a year ago Vrabel also got his face – without a mustache then – scanned for Madden 19, but he didn't make the game because he forgot to turn in the necessary contract/paperwork.
As a result, Vrabel's image didn't make EA Sports' Madden NFL 19.
The game instead used a coach named James Donelson, and let's just say Mr. Donelson doesn't resemble the former NFL linebacker who took over as head coach of the Titans in 2018.
Vrabel said he was surprised about the stir his absence from the game caused.
So, is he looking forward to seeing how he looks in this year's game?
Well, he has to first do his part.
"We'll see if I remember to turn it in," he said with a smile.
Stay tuned.
