Throughout the season, the Tennessee Titans social media platforms, facebook.com/titans and @tennesseetitans on Twitter, will ask fans to submit their favorite questions for a designated Titans player. The player will then answer the best ones in the latest issue of Titans GameDay and at Titansonline.com.

This week Gerald McRath (@4everUSM24) fields questions from the fans. McRath is a smart, athletic linebacker that has made an immediate impact for the Titans in his first two seasons, appearing in 28 total games with 12 starts at outside linebacker. In his brief NFL career, he has gained a reputation as a sound tackler with great leadership qualities. In 2010, McRath played in 12 games with seven starts and posted totals of 60 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Justin Hood on Facebook asks: What goes through your mind in pre-game?
"I'm focusing on being at the top of my game and knowing my responsibilities, and just not wanting to let my teammates down. Ultimately, I just want to know my assignments and have fun."
Shaun Garner on Facebook asks: What's your favorite place to eat in Nashville?
"That is a tough one; everything is good. I will say Outback Steakhouse because it's so close to my house and I love steak and potatoes."
Dustin Johnson on Facebook asks: Who is your all-time favorite linebacker?
"I think if I idolized anyone it was Derrick Brooks just because he was a smaller 'backer like myself. You know everybody looked at him as not weighing a lot, but at the same time you know he was a big impact player in the games. He did a lot of things, a lot of things that I think a lot of people doubted him for."
Alex Heilman on Facebook asks: What's your favorite thing you're hearing about Jerry Gray's new system?
"The system uses everybody, it's not circled around one guy. It's something that definitely uses team effort and the team benefits. So you know if you do your job, everybody benefits from it, everybody is going to have fun. Everybody has a special part in this defense that if they don't do then it won't work correctly."
Jermaine L Jones on Facebook asks: What aspect of your game do you think is the weakest, and what have you done this offseason to improve it?
"I think just being a better player overall. You know I don't necessarily say it's the weakest, but I feel like it's something that definitely needs to be improved—as far as studying, as far as lifting, getting stronger, being more athletic, just as being a pro in the NFL. I want to be a whole lot better than I was last year. I don't want to sit and stay the same at any aspect of my game. I want my whole total game to improve. So, you know, I guess just to improve overall, just to be a better player."
@KHwarrior on Twitter asks: What football player inspired you the most before you played in the NFL?
"Nobody really. When I started playing when I was five years old, I didn't know who was playing in the pros. I just played just because it was fun. I normally played with kids older than me. You know, my mom just signed me up, and from then on it was something that I just loved to do. I never loved watching football, but I always loved playing it."
@reaprayzer on Twitter asks: What is the origination, purpose and outcome of your signature growl?? Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!
"It's just how I feel. You know, when you do something good or when you have a lot of energy built up, you just feel like yelling. Sometimes they say yelling releases something, but it's just how I feel. I'm excited about football. I think it's awesome; you make a big play sometimes you just want to yell. You don't necessarily want to talk trash to the guy, but you're just so pumped up that you just want to let everybody know that you're pumped-that you're amped. It was something that I was doing in college and it really got kicked up when I got here to the league. It's something I do before every pre-game whenever I run out of the tunnel."
@SpaceHippieSays on Twitter asks: If you weren't in the NFL, what job would you be doing?
"I would be trying to get in the NFL. If that wasn't possible, I would go into coaching. When it's all said and done, I want to be a football coach. I want to have my own Little League team, like an AAU travel team for football with some of the best of the best. I would try to coach them up and teach them the right things, the fundamentals and stuff."
@ms7530 on Twitter asks: How does the new defensive scheme differ from last year and do you feel it will more effective?
"To be honest with you, it's really not a big difference. Everybody in the league does the same thing, they might just tweak it a little bit, or they call plays different. I think it's more so in how the games will be called by the DC and how the coaches have been coaching us here. I think that will be the difference, just different philosophies and just different coaching styles in a sense, and I'm just excited to be a part of it. Guys are going to have to hold each other a little more accountable than in the past; we have to step it up."
