On his message to the team this week:
"Sometimes you just got to trust your gut and trust your instincts and that's really what that was."
On if there was more pressure to win this week knowing that the bye week was coming:
"Nah, no pressure. We needed to get a win. That's it, we just needed to get a win. We understand that we let three games slip away and no one wants to go into the bye week losing so this was a good one to get a win. We can still build on some stuff and take some time to reassess where we're at and make the necessary changes."
On when the offense jumps out the gate quick how much energy does that give the defense:
"That gives a lot. I think we all just play together and that's the thing we got to keep playing together. Offense, defense, special teams we all feed off one another. Whether it's us getting turnovers, special teams getting turnovers, or the offense going down the field and scoring we all got to feed off of that and I felt like we did a good job of that."
On how much more energy it brings when the offense converts touchdowns right after takeaways:
"It's great. That's the one thing we wanted to do. I think we just wanted to get back to having fun and really celebrating everybody. When the offense does what they need to do it's fun to watch, we have a very talented offense."
On how a win like this gets the team back mentally:
"Winning is always good. I think it's our next game so we needed this win especially going to a bye so everybody has time to recover and step away from the game a little bit. You know we got a nice little stretch coming up."
On him and Former Washington LB London Fletcher becoming the only players to record 100-plus tackles in 13 consecutive seasons:
"It's really cool, especially being on his team, to be able to do it wearing this jersey. Shout out to Fletch I don't remember when I reached out to him but I reached out to him awhile ago and he was gracious with his time and he answered every question that I had. So to be wearing this jersey knowing that he wore this jersey and to be in the same building as him is really cool. I think what he was able to accomplish over his career was really special and he's more than deserving to be in the hall of fame and I feel like people should recognize his greatness as he is one of the reasons why we're here. I'm grateful for the knowledge that he was able to share with me and so it's cool to be in the same realm as him."
On if there was anything specific that jumped out at him during his conversation with Fletcher:
"Yea, I don't think he ever missed a game. Sharing tips on how to take care of your body was it for me."
On how he knows when it's time to set the tone:
"I don't know if I'd know I think it's more so just trusting God. God put something on my heart and I just let him guide the way"
On what they needed to get back in the win column:
"I think we just needed to have fun. I think as the expectations started to grow we needed to get back to just having fun, that's why we were playing so well. We weren't worried about what the outside was saying. You know there's going to be games where the outside appreciates us, there's going to be games where the outside thinks we're not playing that well. As long as we focus on the people that's in here and just have fun everything takes care of itself."
On how he normally spends his bye week:
"Everybody's different. Sometimes it's later, sometimes it's early. I'm just going to chill. I'm going to have one day where I just don't set my alarm and I'm going to see what happens. So I'm looking forward to that."
On how crucial was this win for a playoff push:
"I don't think we really focused on the playoffs it's more so just this was the game to focus on. We need to win this game. It's good going into the bye having a win versus a loss. There's still a lot of things that we need to fix but winning is always better than losing. It's cool to have a win in the NFL, take some time to recover and come back and be ready these last four weeks."
