NASHVILLE – Titans head coach Brian Callahan talked to reporters on Monday, one day after the team's 38-30 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Here's a look at the hot topics from the presser as the team turns its attention to Sunday's game at the Jacksonville Jaguars:
-Callahan said he hasn't made a definitive decision on who will start at quarterback in Jacksonville. Callahan said he thought Mason Rudolph did a lot of positive things in Indianapolis, other than his interception at the end of the first half. "It was a relatively good performance by Mason," Callahan said of Rudolph, who completed 23-of-34 passes for 252 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions against the Colts. "I thought he had a good performance, but ultimately, we needed a little bit more. Can't have the turnover at the critical spot."
-So, what will Callahan factor in before deciding between Rudolph, and Will Levis? "I just think the idea still is to put ourselves in the best chance to win, and who gives us the best chance to do that," Callahan said. "My goal is to try to put the best chance to win on the field for us."
-The Titans allowed the Colts to run for 335 yards on Sunday, which broke the record for rushing yards allowed in the "Titans era" (since 1999). Colts running back Jonathan Taylor ran for 218 yards and three touchdowns, including a scoring run of 70 yards. "I am as embarrassed as anybody that that is what we put on the field," Callahan said, "and I think (players) are, too. That is not anywhere close to an acceptable performance in the run game. … I would hope that they feel just as embarrassed as I do."
-The Titans are now 3-12, and Callahan knows the biggest reason. "The biggest issue we have right now is we lead the league in turnovers," Callahan said. "What do we have, 31 turnovers? That's insanity. It's going to make it really hard. That's how you lose games in this league. The biggest issue we have right now is the turnover problem."
-Callahan said kicker Nick Folk's health will be monitored through the week. Brayden Narveson kicked in place of an injured Folk on Sunday, and he misfired from 53 yards on his only attempt.
-Callahan said the team plans to hold a walkthrough practice on Christmas Eve as the team aims to manage some of its injury issues.
