NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 0-4 Tennessee Titans got a bit of good news Thursday as starting cornerback Nick Harper returned to the practice field for the first time since suffering a rib injury at Jacksonville.
Harper, wearing a protective flak jacket in practice, said he plans to play Sunday night against his former team, the Indianapolis Colts.
"I'm gonna go. I've got a little compression of the ribs, but I'm good to go," said Harper, who added that he might not wear the flak jacket in the game.
For the second straight day, the Titans other starting cornerback Cortland Finnegan did limited work as he comes back from a hamstring injury that sidelined him against the Jaguars.
The Titans will need a healthy secondary to face Peyton Manning and the 4-0 Colts Sunday night in Nashville.
"When you're playing the best passing offenses in the league, it would be good to have your starting corners. So we're just hopeful that as the week progresses, he'll be able to play," Coach Jeff Fisher said.
