I just have a comment or two on Sen'Derrick and then we can let Cole [Proctor] offer up his opinion on him. We had Sen'Derrick in as one of our 30 visits. We interviewed him at the Combine. We interviewed him here. He was kind of a late bloomer. He was a basketball player, dunks a basketball at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds and is very athletic. He was banged up this year. He had two high ankle sprains and struggled through it but stayed on the field and played and we think his future is well ahead of him. He is going to be a good football player. We feel like he will be able to fit right into the rotation. He is going to need some work and things, but we'll have him ready to go when camp starts.
COLLEGE SCOUT COLE PROCTOR
(on if Sen'Derrick Marks reminds him of any other players)

Albert [Haynesworth] has that quickness and that is what he has. He doesn't have the strength that Albert has, but he has the quickness. He can get off the ball and that is what we are – we are a pressure team up the field and adjust off the move. That is what he is going to bring. He plays on his feet and he has pass rush ability from the inside and he can play shade or he can play the three technique. Like coach said, he is just a junior. He started at defensive end all of '07 and he had two high ankle sprains here after the Vanderbilt game and he was in and out, but kept playing. He is a tough kid and I think it is all in front of him.

(on looking ahead to tomorrow and whether linebacker and cornerback are priorities)*
**
I think those are positions that are key. I think the good thing is we have eight picks tomorrow and we will have the option of either going for depth at positions or if we get the opportunity to move up for somebody we like higher in the third or fourth we have the ammunition to do that. He can play it either way and I think having extra picks allows us to do that.
(on if he was tempted to trade up for Jeremy Maclin)
**
I think you are always looking at potential opportunities and looking at the draft charts and trying to figure out how much it would take to go get. It really wasn't an opportunity the more you really explored it.

(on if there was surprise that Rey Maualuga was still available when they picked in the first round)
**
I think we had a very constructive conversation regarding it. We have been through these scenarios. That is what you do when you prepare is what if he is here and this guy is here. We have already been through the scenarios, so it wasn't a difficult decision. As far as being surprised, I was a little surprised that he dropped that far. Cincinnati clearly got a very, very fine player.
(on how much time Marks needs before he can step in and contribute)
**
We have OTAs and training camp. Like the rest of the young class, they will play in the preseason games and we'll see. We feel like and Jim [Washburn] feels like that he should be able to fit into the rotation.
GM MIKE REINFELDT
I think that is a good thing just given that position, it is a rotation system so he can get some reps and kind of develop along the way.
HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
(on opportunities to move up in the first two rounds)
**
We made a lot of calls and had a lot of discussions.
GM MIKE REINFELDT
There are always a number of calls that go on and some are ridiculous calls like why would we do that. Some kind of make sense and talk about it and figure out that we have four picks left and there are three guys left, you do all the permutations. There are a number of those discussions. I think that the bottom line was that we always liked the guy that was better than the options we had.
(on whether he prefers the current system with just two rounds on Day 1 or old system with three rounds on the first day)
**
The 10 minutes today with the two rounds was a nice tempo. I thought today went well. Tomorrow will drag, tomorrow will be a tougher day. So probably today I like it this way and tomorrow I will like it the old way.
(on whether there is still a chance for a trade for a receiver)
**
It is still a possibility. I think now going into the second day there is always clubs when you draft certain players there are veterans that you look at. Again I think we will entertain offers and try to talk to other clubs and see what the possibilities are.
(on if there was a challenge scouting Marks after he suffered the injury)
**
Of course he was a junior coming out, so we got a late start on him because of that. The first ball game I looked at and I called his coach and asked why he was coming out. He said Cole, he is playing with two high ankle sprains you have to look at him before the Vanderbilt game. I did and he was a completely different player.
HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
(on whether they thought of picking Chris Wells as ESPN was saying it was an option)
**
You know what we did was we followed what ESPN's recommendation was [laughter]. And we are going to follow it tomorrow too.
(on whether they were surprised the Wells fell in the draft)
**
If you compare him to the running backs, he came off where he should have. You have to keep in mind, you have to compare him with all the other positions and team needs. There are a lot of good players up there that went off early.
GM MIKE REINFELDT
(on where the draft is still strong)
**
I think there is still some good depth at the tight end spot. There haven't been a lot of people come off there. I think the defensive tackles, there are still some players that can help. The corner spot there is some people that can help. There are some good running backs too that are still out there.
(on Kenny Britt)
**
I think what I like about him is that he is one of the guys especially where we picked today that truly has a chance to be a number one on your team. He does everything well. He has the big play potential and route-running. I think he is the total package. He is a young player and we just have to develop him and he'll be ready to go. He has some special attributes I think.
HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
**
(on whether there is concern with the maturation process since both picks are juniors)
**
No. We interviewed them and got to know them pretty well.
GM MIKE REINFELDT
I think that is one of the good things that we do, in the course of this we bring them in for the interview and they sit down the whole day and talk to the assistant coaches, Jeff, the strength coach. Even though they are juniors, that is the opportunity to really get to know what is their passion for the game of football and those guys both have great passion for the game of football.
