(On if this is where he thought he might be picked in the draft)*
I'm happy. It's not what I expected, but I'm happy. I told everybody the draft was crazy from my first interview on. I'm just so happy right now.
(On if he thought he might be drafted on the first day of the draft)
Yeah, but I mean the Titans are a great team, and I'm so happy to be close to home with the family and play for a great organization.
(On if he feels good that the Titans traded up to get him)
Oh yeah. That makes me feel great. Just the fact that they would come after me like that. It makes me feel awesome.
(On how he characterizes himself as a pass catcher and a blocker)
I run great routes. I have great hands. I stretch the field well. As a blocker I'm still learning some things but I can get the job done. I'm going to bust my butt to do it.
(On if there are any players he patterns his game after)
I would like to be like a Jason Witten, a complete tight end. Maybe one day I can work up to that and be competitive like him.
(On what it was like watching the first round of the draft and not being picked)
Just watching all the teams pick as my name just kept running down and running down. I was kind of disappointed, but my agent just told me God was working it out and God had a plan. The plan is a great fit for me.
(On how he compares to Pettigrew)
I think we both have intangibles. Obviously he's a better blocker, but I think that my offense, I did well blocking and I got the job done. I'm a good pass catcher, and I'm a good runner. We just have different intangibles.
(On how much he thinks his workout helped move him up in the draft)
I think it helped me a little bit. I think the interviews and my character really stood out to the coaches.
(On how much he knows about the Titans and how he thinks he will fit in with the team)
I think I fit in pretty good. They have a great team and a great quarterback. Hopefully I can get in and get the ball rolling and learn the playbook and get going.
(On if he followed Falcons tight end Alge Crumpler when he was growing up)
Yeah, he was a good tight end for the Falcons for a while.
(On starting his career as a wide receiver)
I just kept getting bigger and putting on weight and Coach Spurrier asked me if I wanted to move to tight end. I told him I would do anything to help the team. We made the transition. It worked out for the best.
(On how soon he hopes to play)
As soon as I can. I want to learn the playbook as fast as I can and get in and get going.
(On who he talked to when he found out he was being picked)
I talked to the offensive coordinator and the tight ends coach.
(On what they told him)
They just told me it was a good pick and they are glad that they have me and they are excited about me coming in.
(On if he knows much about the Titans' tight end situation)
No, not really. I will find out pretty fast.
(On where he watched the draft)
At home with the family.
(On if he turned on the TV pretty quick this morning since he wasn't picked the first day of the draft)
I just went about my day as usual. I didn't want to try to stretch it too much. I tried not to worry about it too much. I'm just glad my name got called by a great team.
(On where his home is)
Suwanee, Georgia.
