TITANS HEAD COACH KEN WHISENHUNT PRESS CONFERENCE
(on injuries)
I don't know if you got the injury report from yesterday, but it's the same today. Zaviar (Gooden's) probable. All those other guys were limited and questionable. The only one that wasn't practicing was Terren (Jones). We're waiting to see about clearance for him if he's available for the game.
(on how Taylor Lewan will be listed on the injury report)*
Limited.
(on the possibility of Taylor Lewan playing this Sunday)
We'll see where it is Sunday. We'll see where we are as a team. In the last few weeks we've had available spots just because of the health situation. If there's a chance, probably. We'll see how it plays out.
(on when Terren Jones got a concussion)
Wednesday in practice. We were in pads, and it was pretty lively.
(on the best way to approach Andrew Luck)
I don't know. He doesn't seem to get rattled too much. I think you've just got to make sure that you don't let him beat you with his feet. You know he can beat you with his throwing the ball, but there's times when he can pull it down and run with it, too, so I think it's really more about gap integrity and, obviously, trying to cover their guys. You've got to be very disciplined, and you've got to mix what you're trying to do to them. It's tough.
(on feelings about the last practice of the season)
It's not where you want to be. There's a lot of teams in the league in that position. Our season didn't go the way we wanted it to, but you get a chance to see how they handle it. Our guys have worked well this week, which is one of the things that you like to see.
(on if they have had a spirited last week of practice)
It's been pretty consistent with that the whole year. That's not been our issue. It hasn't been the practice. It's been making the plays on Sunday. It was nice to see the guys, especially with it being the week of Christmas and being the last week. They worked good, and I think that's a tremendous sign about what you're trying to establish with the team.
(on wanting to get wins at home)
There's no question about that. We haven't done it. There's no question, we haven't done a lot of things this year that we wanted to do, and that's certainly one of them. We've got a chance to get better and build the foundation the right way and make that a place where we win a lot of games. If you win at home, then you've got a good chance of winning your division and getting into the playoffs. That's one of many things that we have to improve on.
(on what Zach Mettenberger has been able to do in practice this week)
Zach (Mettenberger's) worked this week. He's done well. He's done more than what your assessment of it's been this week, but we'll see where it is Sunday, if we have a chance to dress him. I think the important thing is working to get back and being ready to play. There is a chance he'll be in uniform Sunday, and he could get a couple of snaps. Once again, as I've said, that depends on where we are health-wise as a team.
(on if Zach Mettenberger would play in an emergency situation)
We'll see on Sunday.
(on if they would dress three quarterbacks this Sunday)
We could have in the weeks previous, because we've had enough guys injured. We're in a little different position this week from the standpoint we're a little healthier, maybe. We'll have to see. With the way our luck's been going from that standpoint, I'll defer until Sunday.
