TITANS HEAD COACH MIKE MULARKEY MEDIA AVAILABILITY - Dec. 9, 2016
(on practice participation)
We held out Jurrell (Casey) again today. Again, he's going to be listed as questionable for the game. Not here was (Angelo) Blackson—illness. Other than that, all full participation by everybody.
(on if Angelo Blackson will be listed as questionable for the game)
No, you don't list him. There's no more 'probable', so he should play.
(on if Jurrell Casey will be a game-time decision)
Probably, yeah. We've still got 48 hours.
(on if Jurrell Casey will be able to perform well if he is able to play)*
I would think this time of the year. Yeah, I would think so.
(on having a short injury report this late in the season)
Yeah, our guys have done a good job of taking care of themselves. We feel like we have a good program. The way we practice, I think that has a lot to do with it. I think how they take care of themselves, and we preach recovery and they listen. Hydrate is a big emphasis, as well. We're trying to do as much as we can to be in this position, and we're fortunate.
(on who will start at cornerback)
We're still going to talk about that. We have time. We've got 48 hours to make that decision. We'll find out on Sunday.
(on if Phillip Supernaw and Daimion Stafford fully recovered over the bye week)
Yeah, there's nothing with those guys—nothing at all. They had really four good practices, both of them.
(on the opportunity to get over .500 on the season)
Yeah, that's part of the process. We've got to learn to get over the hump, we do. That's part of this. That's part of what we're doing this year. We've done some things we haven't done in recent years. This is one of them. We've got to get over it.
(on if he will discuss the possibility of a winning record and the AFC South race with the team)*
I think they know, but I'll probably, again, bring that up. That's part of us learning how to win games, especially in December—the games that you have to win if you want to win a Super Bowl. These are the kind of games you've got to win.
(on if depth on the defensive line will factor into the decision to play Jurrell Casey)
I think it's going to factor in, but not on Jurrell (Casey) and if he can play or not. I mean, we're fortunate to have the depth that we do, but if he can play, he's going to play. We may keep an extra D-lineman up if that's the case. Those are all things that are in discussions all the way up until 10:30 that morning.
(on what he expects the crowd atmosphere to be like)*
I think it's going to be a great atmosphere. I wouldn't expect anything else. It's December. You're playing for something that's important. I think our fans—we're trying to get them to come back and see that we're doing things the right way, we're going in the right direction. I think they feel that. This is an important game for us, so we need their support, need them out there. I don't even know if I need to say anything. I think it's already going to be packed, so it's going to be fun for our players.
(on the importance of third-and-manageable situations against the Broncos' defense)
Yeah, I mean, obviously, the longer the third down, the longer you hold it. Yeah, that would be good. That's every week you're trying to stay out of third-and-long situations. A lot of that is avoiding self-inflicted wounds that can put you in them.
(on the Broncos' points off turnovers)
Yeah, 100-something points off of turnovers. We know that. Obviously, that's a factor every week—turnovers—but this one more than ever because of what they do with them.
