TITANS INTERIM HEAD COACH MIKE MULARKEY PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT - December 25, 2015
(on Kendall Wright and Da'Norris Searcy's injury progress)
Good with Kendall (Wright). He did more than Da'Norris because of the turf. We limited Da'Norris and Harry (Douglas) because of the turf and Delanie (Walker) as well, just limited reps, just because of being in here.
**
(on if he's worried about the field conditions at the stadium given all of the rain over the past week)**
No, I think obviously, it's not worked like these fields are. I don't have any concerns at this point right now. They'll have multiple pairs of shoes to be prepared for the game, so I don't have any concerns, no.
(on how Zach Mettenberger did this week in practice)
Zach (Mettenberger) had a good week, a very good week. He had a very good Friday, a really good Friday to finish up the week. We're very well-prepared, I think. He's had the guys in bright and early to meet with him on his own. He's done that ever since he's been a starter, but it's been very good on his part.
(on Zach Mettenberger organizing extra meetings with the offense)
I know he gets together with the centers for sure, so they can kind of ID on Thursday morning. They get together post-practice every Wednesday and Thursday, all the players, and talk about film on their own. But (Zach Mettenberger) is strictly the one that's coordinated it.
(on his surprise test for the players today)
We had a little rapid fire Friday. I threw questions at special teams, offense and defense as quickly as I can, and they had to answer in front of their peers. Today, this included about eight Christmas questions to see how up-to-date they were. I say, 'Kris Kringle,' they say, 'Santa Claus,' type of thing like that. I fire away and kind of put them on the spot. I do know this, they don't know 'The 12 Days of Christmas' very well.
(on if the team not knowing 'The 12 Days of Christmas' is fine-worthy)
No, but they were embarrassed, so that was enough.
