HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER**
(on cutting practice short for a walk-thru)
Yeah, we did. We've done this at times before. I just felt like we've benefited from the mental exercises. It was a good practice. We just cut it back and finished with the walk-thru.
(on if there were plans to practice outside)
**
I've been monitoring the weather. The wind was extreme. We wouldn't have got anything done.
*(on Michael Roos)
Mike's been playing very solid for us. He hasn't had any issues. That position's as hard as there is to play in the league and Mike has just really played very well for us. I think we're second in the league in sacks allowed, first in the league in rush, second in the league in rush and Mike's a big part of that.
(on what kind of a challenge is Rams DE Chris Long)
Mike's going to see typically the best rusher every week. When you don't here is name and you're not getting sacked, he's doing his job. Chris is a very active player. He's a lot like Kyle (Vanden Bosch).
(on the Rams offensive struggles)
I don't necessarily think that they're struggling. This team, in the last five weeks, has won one game and lost four by an average of about seven points, eight points. They're in games. They're scoring points. They're running the football. Kyle (Boller) is a mobile quarterback. He's an accurate passer. They've got a good group of young receivers. So, this is a potentially very explosive offense. Then you add the fact they've got the second leading rusher in the league back there. It's a big challenge for us defensively.
(on who Steven Jackson compares to)
He's unusual. He's big and strong and quick through the hole. He's an upright runner and runs with real good vision. They scheme ways of getting him the ball in to the secondary.
(on keeping the players from letting their guard down against the Rams)
**
No, we're coming off a loss and this is our next game. This means an awful lot to us. They understand and see the potential in this team. They saw it this morning and they'll see it throughout the week.
(on talking about the playoffs)
I want the team, the players themselves, to know that despite what everybody else is saying, we don't have an asterisk by our name right now as being eliminated. So, we're just going to keep playing.
(on Justin Gage)
Justin returned back to practice full-speed. So, I would expect, barring any setbacks, he'd have a chance to play.
