HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER, MAY 13, 2008**
(on what he can expect from DT Antonio Johnson after his injury)
I think it is position specific. He's rare from a strength standpoint. He's been right for quite some time. If you were to ask him he probably wouldn't even remember that he hurt his knee. It's behind him and he's doing well. We didn't have him through minicamp and we haven't seen him in preseason games. It's going to be interesting to watch. Thus far, he's done pretty well.
(on Antonio Johnson and Jacob Ford being able to play this year after being lost to injuries last season)
We lost both Jacob and Antonio in camp early and they are both back now. The time that they've spent here has not been limited to rehab. They have been in the meetings; they have been learning and they have been watching. So mentally they are going their second year, physically they are just going their first.
(on having other players get looks in DT Albert Haynesworth's absence)
We have to be careful with Tony (DT Tony Brown) because he likes to take every snap, he doesn't need to do that now. The younger guys are getting good work.
(on the status of WR Mike Williams)
We met when the season was over and laid out some goals. He reached those early in the off-season. He's came back in and he's been working and thus far he's done well. He's clearly in the mix and has a great deal of talent in a very competitive situation.
(on the status of DE Bryce Fisher)
Well, he's got the experience. He's a veteran defensive end that has played in many, many games and made a lot of plays. He understands what it takes. Considering that we lost both Travis (DE Travis LaBoy) and Antwan (DE Antwan Odom), I think Bryce becomes more valuable to us.
(on the Spygate issue)
I've been fortunate to be part of a number of meetings regarding what's taken place. The commissioner met with the competition committee back in February we also visited briefly at the owners meeting. I thought he handled everything very, very well. The Patriots cooperated and from what I've heard and what we've all been told, it looks like we will finally be able to put this behind us.
(on the Titans' new blocking bag)
It's just a change up. That bag in particular will be used by offensive lineman and tight ends and even running backs. Its technique and position specific for pass protection. It keeps your feet alive and coordinates your hands and your feet. That's good design you've seen them before. It's the first time we've had something like that. It's always nice to change your drills up.
