HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
(on the lighter practice)
**
What you saw there was an unorganized team activity. That is what we call it. Yeah, it was good. We were pleased as a staff as far as everything that we got done. It is the last day and participation has been great, so we had a long meeting session this morning with them regarding what is ahead as far as the next four or five weeks and what is expected of them. We just came out and wanted to have a little bit of fun.
(on whether he told the players not to create any distractions during their time off)
**
I'm not anticipating any problems, but those things are always discussed at this time of the year.
(on whether the players welcome a practice day like this with less football activity)
**
Yes. They didn't have any idea. They expected to go out and go through the whole practice script. We modified it ever so slightly.
(on whether any particular group stood out)
**
The DBs have a good feel for the game. That is something they play three or four days a week during the offseason program.
(on the name of the bucket game)
**
They call it Power Ball and there are rules. The offensive team has to get across midfield or the score doesn't count, so it keeps everybody running.
(on Ahmard Hall's importance to the offense)
**
You saw some things out of him last year, the long run after catches and he is very good with screens, but he is also, I think, one of the better fullbacks in the league and he was recognized last year as an alternate to the Pro Bowl. We expect him just to continue to get better.
(on whether he gets some time to relax)
**
Most of our scheduling is done. We are going to have some administrative meetings and I'll be touching base with the coaches and things, but as far as staff is concerned they will be able to enjoy some time off.
(on whether he recommends guys take the next couple of weeks to get away)
**
I don't have to recommend it, just stand outside the parking lot this afternoon after two o'clock.
